You'll meet our team, we'll explain what happens next and answer any questions you might have. Then all that's left to do is go and start this safari trip of a lifetime together.

There's a good chance you might see the Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo) on your visit to Ol Pejeta Conservancy, which sits high on the Laikipia Plateau. The conservancy is a fantastic place to see all five species (although leopard can be elusive), and it's one of the best places to see rhino anywhere in Kenya. Other wildlife highlights might include cheetah, hyena, giraffe, zebra and more. Over 500 bird species have been recorded here too. Ol Pejeta also offers the chance to see the last two surviving northern white rhino, as well as a sanctuary for rescued chimpanzees. The conservancy's landscapes include savannah grasslands and riverine woodlands.

Solio Ranch Conservancy

Solio Ranch, also known as Solio Game Reserve, is a renowned private wildlife conservancy located in Kenya's Central Province, approximately 22 kilometers north of Nyeri Town. Established in 1970, it is the world’s first private rhino sanctuary, dedicated to conserving and breeding black and white rhinos. Spanning about 17,500 acres, the sanctuary is home to over 200 rhinos and a diverse range of wildlife, including lions, leopards, cheetahs, zebras, buffaloes, giraffes, and various antelope species. Visitors can enjoy activities such as game drives, guided walks, horseback riding, and bird watching, with some of the best leopard sightings in Kenya.

Set in the heart of the Aberdare National Park, iconic and yes, quirky, The Ark overlooks a floodlit waterhole and salt lick, which attracts a host of awesome wildlife. Resembling and named after Noah’s Ark, the Ark has four viewing areas for observing the ever-present animal activity. There is also a ground level bunker – the perfect hideout for the discerning photographer. This is a circular pillbox-like structure, and it is from this vantage point that pictures of animals on the salt lick only yards away may be taken through the view holes in complete safety. As Monty Brown describes in his book, “Haven Under the Hill”:

Day 4

Lake Nakuru National Park

Lake Nakuru National Park has lots of fans, and you're sure to be one after you visit. Although the park is only minutes away from the busy town of Nakuru, it has an incredible wildlife offering. This includes large numbers of both black and white rhino, endangered Rothschild's giraffes, pink flamingos, and lions that climb trees. This is one of only a handful of parks in Africa where you can see lions up in the branches. The view out over the lake from high on the escarpment is superb, while the lake itself is surrounded by acacia woodlands.

Lake Naivasha

Of all Kenya's Rift Valley lakes, high-altitude Lake Naivasha offers the richest variety of experiences. There's lots to do here, and you might even see zebras, giraffes or hippos. Its human story is also fascinating: Lake Naivasha was popular with colonial types as an escape from the city, and it plays a similar role for locals now, especially on weekends.

It has one of the loveliest lakeside swimming pools in the area, as well as a good restaurant and bar, and large, luxurious rooms in stone bungalows. The shaded grounds are home to waterbuck by day, and (sometimes) hippos at night, so always take care when walking around after dark.

Masai Mara National Reserve

Many travelers fall in love with the Masai Mara National Reserve at first sight, and it's really easy to do. Here you can go looking for big cats, elephant, giraffe, hippo, buffalo, wildebeest, zebra and more (including black rhinos in the Mara Triangle). Birders come because more than 500 species have been recorded in the Mara. And best of all, you get to do it all across one of Kenya's best examples of classic safari terrain. The Masai Mara is a wonderful world of endless savannah grasslands, acacia woodlands and rolling hill country rising to the escarpments that line the reserve's perimeter. The Mara also lies in the heart of Maasai country.

Nairobi is a fascinating introduction to modern Kenyan life, with its fine restaurants, hotels, bars and nightclubs. You'll also have the chance to enjoy some excellent museums, wildlife attractions, markets and shops, which offer a deeper understanding of the country. This, along with the parks and reserves, makes a Kenyan safari such a wonderful experience.

Nairobi National Park is one of few places on earth where you can see lions, rhinos, giraffes, zebras, hippos, crocodiles, wildebeests and zebras, not to mention over 500 bird species, all within sight of the city.

Get to know the adorable baby elephants at this fabulous elephant orphanage.

Amboseli National Park

You're in for a real safari treat when you visit Amboseli. It's one of Kenya's most beautiful parks, thanks to the fact that Mt Kilimanjaro, Africa's tallest peak (5895m), dominates most views here. Amboseli is also famous for its large population of elephants with big tusks, and you have an excellent chance of seeing lions, cheetahs, hyenas, zebras, buffaloes, giraffes, wildebeests and many gazelles while you're here. With 420 bird species recorded, it's also a great place for birding.
